Certificate Overview
The Certificate/Diploma French Programmes are designed to train business executives, tourist industry managers, secretaries, diplomats, students, scientists, researchers and other professionals to understand as well as produce standard spoken and written French appropriate to their various areas of specialisation.

The Certificate Programme in Translation is designed for (a) candidates who have attained the level of the Abia State University Diploma French and (b) practising translators in foreign and Nigerian languages.

B.A French Programme
The B.A. French programme is designed for those who wish to become

1. bilingual secretaries/managers/administrators in such national and multinational establishments as NNPC, NPA, NTA, NMA, Chevron, ELF, Peugeot etc;
2. translators and conference interpreters who are among the most highly paid professionals in the world;
3. diplomats and high-level employees in embassies and foreign missions in Nigeria and abroad;
4. teachers of the French language (which has assumed enhanced status in Nigeria, with ample promotional support and scholarships from the Nigerian and French governments.)
